We are heading to Dover on Friday, if the just stop oil f##swits are on the m25 what's best alternative route?
We usually hit the M6, m1 and Dartford or Heathrow depending on traffic.
Cheers
Mike

Not many other options. You could go M6, A14, M11, reduces some of tye M25. Could also go down M11 to North circular and through Blackwall tunnel, but that can be bad too.

These protesters don't give advanced warnings. I'd just download something like Waze on your phone and let it decide the best route on the day.

I would give yourself plenty of time as they are predicting this Friday to be the busiest get away day for years 👍

I would come down M40 then south of London via M25 then M26.
At least your the right side then, nothing worse than trying to cross the dreaded Dartford crossing

On our way at 5:30am.
Twitter says it's 4 hours wait at border 🛂 control.
Fuel protest and "just stop oil ' not stopped us yet ❗.
Travel is a nightmare, it's like a game of snake and ladders without the ladders.
Ho hum.

Just went onto the Eurotunnel web site and they are saying 1 hour delay at the moment
Last year I got delayed for 3 hours (downed cable in tunnel) I had to wait 24hrs to make a claim, they came back to me in a couple of days with a refund of my outward journey 👍👍 brilliant
A week later I got another email saying that I've got a free return journey to France to be used within 12 months
I hope you don't get delayed for too long but either way make a complaint and see what they come back with.
Enjoy your trip 👍
Just realised your going to Dover
Yes on the radio they just said a wait of 4 hours

Phew ❗
No Road protests are traffic jams
Yes it was busy at Dover.
It took 2 hours from the top of the hill (jubilee way) to actually driving on the boat 🛥.
Considering the media hype blah blah I was expecting far worse.
As an observation Irish Ferried was really busy, we are on P&O (obviously folks are boycotting P&O) as we set off on time and on the 1235 boat (we were scheduled on the 230pm boat.
I'm relieved we were only delayed two hours. (I've had longer delays on the train 🚉 before)
Cheers

Glad you got away without too much hastle.
Out of interest, were EU registered vehicles getting through any faster (no passport checks etc)?

No, it's was a mixture of all nationality in the queue.
The French looked at our passports but the UK 🇬🇧 border 🛂 force just waved us through.
I spoke to a Brit at Rouen and they had a 3 hour delay on the cho cho.
So we were very lucky to have a 2 hour delay

Out of interest were they still asking for proof of vaccination etc. I presumed there probably just doing random checks now?
