Last night I was tightening the lock nuts around the reel and I heard a click and now the whole reel seat can spin round.


Is this an easy fix or am I best giving it to a rod builder to fix? It's not a major issue and I can deal with it but my ocd will kick in at some stage or I will blank a few times and it will be the reel seats fault

I've done a little google and I have seen people drilling into the seat and then injecting a small amount of epoxy into the holes (like this vid)

Anyone done this or is it best to take it to a rod builder?

I've used the syringe method with good results, seats have been solid.

Just had some done by a builder.
1. Removed whipping above seat.
2. Released winding check and slid up blank.
3. Re pack and re epoxy if necessary.
4. Re attach winding check.
5. Re whip.

Out interest, how much did that cost Glen?

I'm good at screwing things up, so would be good to know
