Hi Gents,
I'm looking into going back to solely using scopes for my uk fishing, due to the practicality of leaving them in the car for after work sessions.
I already have a set of 9ft 2.75's plus my 12 footers, but I'll be selling my 12's to fund some heftier scopes.
I used 10ft 3lb scopes exclusively for probably about 3 years when they first come out. The only downfall I found with the 3lb's was that they were fairly soft when it come to casting anything over 80yds. Obviously the 3.5's will be much more capable, but do they sacrifice too much when it comes to playing fish etc? Are they as good all rounders as the 3lber's or are they a tad too stiff?

Not sure if this helps as mine are the 9ft 3.5s but they are pretty pokey. They handle big leads and solid bags with ease but they do feel a bit boat rod like when playing fish. I've had fish to upper 30s on them from some pretty weedy and snaggy venues and on the plus side never once felt under gunned or have suffered any hookpulls. I use mine when i need the shorter powerful rods but wouldn't want to fish with them everywhere
