Does anyone use hemp oil on their pop ups instead of Goo or any kind of glug?
I like the idea of giving my cell pop ups a light glazing of hemp oil and the occasional shake every few days.
Does anyone else do this?
Does hemp oil go off?

All oils will go off. And coating baits in oil is pointless imo. You'd be better using something soluble

It is if the pop up is simply flavour and not a food based bait. I've not used it on those kind of pop ups.

However, I've found it super effective to soak hook baits in a little oil.

I make my own hookbaits and create a coating with powders and liquids that becomes a bit like a paste wrap. I add some oil to that as it rises off the bait and takes bits of the coating and the liquids with it. It might not be as effective as I think, but since doing it I've had good results, especially this Spring.

Hemp oil does go off but you'll likely use all your pop ups long before then. depending on how fresh it is when you bought it.

Its best use in hookbaits is to draw fish down, so combine it with a hydro or something like tigernut extract first and then use.

Personally I prefer more food signal orientated liquids and certainly like to blend the oil with someone soluble.

It all depends on what you want your hookbait to do, be attractive and attract the carp, or to fish over bait, in which case colour and buoyancy are more important
