Hi, haven't fished it before but wondered what linear is like at night in terms of safety and if your gear is safe too ?

Pretty safe as far as nobody walking on to the site at night, but don't leave stuff behind your bivvy just in case. It's easy pickings for c*nts and you never know who you'll end up fishing near/next to.

That's a hard one to answer, l have been several times in recent years and never had a concern or scary moment....however.....I also went for a walk on manor, asked the chap in swim two if he was going as his rods were laid on the floor, his reply was awful as he had his brand new matrix pod system lifted and they just left his rods on the floor,sad thing was he had his young daughter with him so probably just as well he never heard a thing.

I think that would be enough for me to boycott the place for life to be honest.
Plenty of properly safe venues about where you don't need matchsticks under your eyelids after dark.

Unfortunately alot of these thefts you here about is not wrong uns showing up in the dead of the night,it is other anglers already on the complex.

What happens mate if you disturb these tools in the midst of lifting your gear?
Magnet for tackle thieves and I bet we hear about less than 5% of it.

Totally agree mate, I bet it goes on all the time and its kept quiet to not put off future customers.
I haven't fished linear for years and i don't think i will be returning but if I was I certainly wouldn't take my most expensive kit if I was to return.
Anglers are easy targets and when some have 2k+ worth of equipment left out whilst fast asleep and sometimes even drunk or stoned its just to easy for a thief.
Most of the equipment is untraceable and with facebook market place and ebay etc its an easy source of income.
More needs to be done from tackle manufacturers in my opinion to make it harder to sell stolen tackle.
What can they do? I am not sure to be honest but I'm sure it puts a lot of anglers off going fishing.

I fished Linear quite a bit over the years and did quite a few nights on there the couple of years leading upto the first lockdown. I've fished with both my kids seperately and both together. My Missus has even done a couple of nights when our daughter has come along. I've fished B1, B2 and Oxlease with them all.
I can honestly say I've never felt unsafe or worried about and thefts. In fact my daughter and missus wont fish with me on my local syndicate, behind a locked gate! (in our home town) but would both happily do another night at Linear.
If anything the amount of people close by makes them feel safer than out in the middle of nowhere with hardly anyone about.
If there are any thefts from there I'm sure it's other anglers. It's a very busy place with people coming and going all the time.
My advice would be fish as you'd fish anythwere else. Bivvy close to rods, nothing left lying about or behind the bivvy etc.

I've fished linear for the last 3 months , manor , oxlease a few times , B1 & B2 , hunts corner , never had a problem or heard of anything ,

Had my rods robbed from there some years back just as B1 had opened. Woke up to an empty solar world wide pod with no rods. Just wish I had woke up.
