I was looking at buying these last week. The set was £129.99 just last week on angling direct. I've just gone back on their and it's now saying £234.99. Would this be a mistake? Surely it's not gone up £135 in price within a week...

My advice is to not buy these alarms, I've had a set altough they are really cheap they will wake you up many many times when there is no fish on the other end
They have sensitivity but even in low setting if there is wind they still bleep!
And that causes the major problem which is just a little beep on the alarms will cause a long beep on the receiver, it makes you go mad in many sessions
if you just want alarms,lets say for day sessions only they are good for the value!
but with that receiver the way it works I would sugest to stay away from it

Just to balance things up, I've got a set and think they're great. Mainly use mine for barbel on the Trent and wind beeps haven't been issue for me. Mine are an old set so not sure if anything has changed to the current offering? They've been out in all sorts of weathers and still going strong, batteries last forever as well.

Am guessing you dont use them at all for night fishing ? with the receiver ?
Im not saying they are bad at all, again for the price and features they offer a lot of stuff.
The real problem is the long beeeeeeeep on the receiver when you only have a litle beep on the alarm!
Basically doesnt match that little beep and simply its too much .
And when I mention winds its not in every session (strong winds, crossed winds) eventually it will happen and they will not stop, trust me I've been there
And I can compare to my recent alarms on worst conditions! they are simply better because the receiver matches the alarms, now a run is a run and a single liner is a single liner not that long beeeeeeeeep anymore to wake me up lol
I still have the JRCs and will use them when my daughter starts fishing or simply on day sessions with no receiver once again they are good enough
anything am happy to record a little video to explain what am talking about

I know what your saying the difference is like a gentle toot of a car horn to a full blooded wallop
When that receiver goes off But as stated below , battery life is amazing compared to some fox alarms they replaced and they ve not missed a beat in all kinds of ****ty weather from freezing to scorching to torrential
