Hi crafty carpers anyone fished makins
Looking for any info please

I've fished it a few times in the past for perch . However that's in winter time when all the idiots are not there.

It depends what your looking for in your fishing to be honest .

If you are ok with noise and idiots casting across your lines etc then you will be fine .

Makins is my local fishery, I only fish lake 1 in the winter it's very quiet but in the summer can get very busy with idiots casting over lines etc. There are some decent size fish in there so definitely worth fishing, I'd say fish in the week though.

Makins is ok, what stops it being brilliant is there is always too many people fishing lake 1, They allow up to 25 anglers which in my opinion is 17 too many. That said though if you can get a session in midweek then lake 1 is worth it. accurate baiting gets you bites and DO NOT ignore the margins.

A victim of its own publicity I think

One of those places that has has a lot of press and will likely pop up early in a Google search, hence the prevalence for what some might call 'instant carpers'

It's not the worst place to fish by a long shot but expect a crowd in the sunny weather
