So having just acquired a Big lake boat for a new water i will be joining come march i cant find much infomation on the above question.
With the deeper pro coming down a fair wack would this be the better option for telling the depths / bottom im not really fussed on the fish finder option, bare in mind it can go 90ft in some parts as i am told.
only draw backs i can see are with the range? but with such a open space might not be a problem but i suppose it gives me the option to cast it out when i am not using the boat.
other than that i seem to be seeing that unless your spending a big amount on bait boats with sonar fitted, they all seem to have some form of lucky fish finders or so it seems?.
the one i am looking at on ebay at the moment seems to be rated for around 150m with a seperate colour screen which comes in around the £130 mark. The benefit i see here is that it has its own screen and having a bloody huawei p40 pro phone, they dont run android anymore it could seem troublesom getting the deeper app on my phone. Other option is buy a cheap tablet for such job.

I use a deeper pro 2 on a bracket just behind my bait boat. I've had it up to 100yds without the need for a signal booster etc . I'm not interested in the fish finding side of it just the depths and weed which it shows perfectly, combined with braided mainline I'm always 95% sure I'm presenting a bait effectively, which I could never be when casting. Can't comment on the lucky fishfinders as I've never used one but I think anything from the deeper stable is sufficient enough and a tablet will be easily sourced off that auction site.

yes mate all i want it for is to map the swims explore the lake aswel, i know fully well how good the deepers are its just that pretty much all bait boats as explained below have the chinese ones installed. Thanks for the input though mate i appreciate it as said you can pretty much pick up the deeper pro now days for not much money more than these lucky ones that are installed on the boats its just that ones castable and the other isnt.
