I've been having a cursory look at Fish eye products, only after a session where myself and a friend were guiding a boat into a nice spot however our use of hand signals was not properly organised much to each other's amusement. We discussed how good it would be to actually get a front mounted camera.... Long story short, does anyone have any good information on a diy type kit instead, most tech is readily available but I'm a Numpty when it comes to these sort of things.

Depends how much you want to spend really. So you'll need to buy an fpv monitor, fpv camera with either a built in transmitter or separate camera transmitter, a flight controller with an inbuilt OSD and a box to put a battery in.

The reason for the flight controller is you will have the battery level displayed on your monitor - you have to keep in mind that batteries like lipo's for instance should not be drained too low as the cells will be damaged and the magic smoke happen ☹️

I got a GoPro case from Amazon for peanuts that you can mod and put a small fpv camera in it with the cameras aerial drilled and glued in and the flight controller in the same case.

You could buy an adjustable step down regulator to the camera to keep the power consumption down if you wanted.

So you'll go

12v power--> flight controller--> fpv camera which live feeds to your monitor 📺

Cheers for that. Had a read. I'm not good at much technical stuff really. I wonder how much I'd benefit from pulling my hair out in trying to do it myself. May just have to bite the bullet and pay the professionals!!

If you have a local model shop it would be worth asking them. When I looked, the fishing related options were far far more expensive, so tried it myself

both fisheye and stealth cams do a dual camera which includes a front camera
