I'm having some rods made with Kigan rings and was wondering about ‘anti frap' tips . Firstly , is this something Kigan do ? Secondly , is there a real benefit to having these fitted or are they just a gimmick , thanks ?
I've no idea about Kigans but I have Fugi antifrap tips on a couple of sets of rods and would definitely recommend having them.

With the older style the two supporting arms form a bridge which goes over the ferrule ( like specs on a nose )
Whereas anti frap, the supporting arms insert into the side or underneath the ferrule
