Seen a few Dslr for sale. And think of upgrading. I see a d5100 In the classified 👀 for sale. Would that be an upgrade apart for having lower pixels it does have a flip round screen

Not really an answer but I have a d5100 and it is a lovely camera. I've taken some nice pictures of the cats in the garden and that's about it. It'd be lovely to actually know what I'm doing with it. The choice of lenses available is endless.

What do you want the upgrade to do mate? And how much do you want to spend?
To be honest, for trophy shots a new body isn't going to make a massive amount of difference in most situations. I'd say the d5100 would be a downgrade if anything. Other than the articulated screen it offers less than you have now.
I had a d5100 a while back and have a d5500 at the moment which is excellent as a fishing camera. Flip screen is handy, WiFi can be handy. I like having the touch screen which I didn't expect. The better ISO performance can be handy on the odd occasion you're taking trophy shots in poor light (dusk).

Yes mate think. Your right. I like the idea of a flip round screen to make Things that much easier but other than the screen it offers nothing else. Like the look of the 5600 but we'll see. Is mainly for trophy shots with a 35mm prime

The 5600 would be as much as you'd ever need for trophy shots and a general fishing camera mate.
I think there were barely any upgrades from the 5500 to the 5600 so it's worth looking for them to save a bit of money.
Buy second hand from somewhere like Mpb for best deals
I may even sell mine soon. Got really into my wildlife photography and that demands far more than fishing. I'll let you know if/when I decide to incase your still looking

Put your money into the glass, and rather than looking at the technical look for the character. Some great glass like the old Pentax super taks just keep on giving and are as cheap as chips.
