I want 2 bite alarms with a receiver. My budget is about £130/££140. I've kind of narrowed it down to the Sonik SKS or JRC CX. What would be better and why?

Save an extra £30 and get the fox MX 2 rod set.
But if your torn between the sonik or Jrc I would go for the Jrc.
This is only from seeing 2 mates who had a set of both.

Can't comment on the Soniks but I've got the JRCs and they've been rock solid. Out in all weathers and never missed a beat, battery life is great as well.
Fox mini micron X are very good.

I had the JRC and upgraded to prologic fulcrums pro because the JRC receiver makes a long beep on the receiver if anything touched the line "weed/wind/ or just liners"
I couldnt sleep because of that lol, it will make you jump out of bed many times and its not a bite!
The prologic ones are on sale "black friday" at the moment for 160£ i think.
Am very happy with them even the BITE/LIGHT feature is great for me because i use glasses and helps a lot at night.
onlyy thing i dont like is not having knobs for volume etc its buttons but thats just preference! but i can live with that
