Advice please on best braid and breaking strain for long distance casting/fishing. Only ever used power pro and whiplash braid on marker/spod rod. What is best and most user friendly regarding wind knots etc. Venue is relatively weedy.

Berkley CB2000 35lb straight through with 1m leader found the best, never had a wind knot, cast further than using a casting leader. Its a neutral braid on the side of sinking, brilliant braid and casts like a dream, just make sure you wet it b4 casting. I was casting 20yrds further than using a leader.

Suffix 832 hands down, and I've tried most. Completely no thrills, just does exactly what it says on the tin and is strong as old rope too. it'll sink with a bit of persuasion aswell which is rare for a proper casting braid.

Yep, I use Sufix 832 as well. Does all the things you say.

PowerPro - used it for 20 years and still the best. 30lb and 50lb are what I use. Wind knots are user error and will happen with any brand of braid.
