Hi All,

I have managed to chip the ceramic on one of my butt rings - does anyone know what I need to order and where from to get a replacement?

also, is it possible to change the ceramic only, or is it a whole new guide job?

Its the ESP Terry Hearn Classic Mk3 12'9 3.25tc 40mm butt ring

You could give the Tackle box a call : 01322 292400, ask for one of the rod builders they could help advise you

I broke ceramic on a ring had to have new ring put on

If anyone knows, I'd be very interested to find out how the ceramic inserts are fitted to the guide at the factory.

Esp are a very good company , i would imagine it would be a fuji guide ?

Guides are on a production line and when still hot centre is popped in tightens up when cools down.

Dont think thet are fuji, think they are some other after market sic guide.

They don't have the Fuji marking- that was the first thing I looked for

You would get a fuji guide almost identical but no probs if they sending you one 👌

That's good there sending one if it's an after market one with no writing on it trying to find one the same would have been a nightmare

Unless its changed it should be a SeaGuide ring ( little S type symbol on the front leg )
SeaGuide do not make an SiC guide - it will most likely be Zirconia which is absolutley fine and used by many companies

For some reason many years ago it was decided?? Zirconia guides were ' Chinese SiC ' 2 different materials and a lot of companies went a long with calling them SiC
