Looking for some realistic recommendations for a large lake in France (~ 12 of us on an exclusive) for 2023 (not overly-fussed on time of year). It's a joint 50th birthday party/social. Preferable
* Within 4 hours' travel of a main port (ferry or tunnel)
* Decent chance of a 50+ (but not overly-bothered - it's more of a social - so moderate difficulty with all having a decent chance of catching)
* Good facilities (lodge, showers, electricity available)
* Close-ish to a town with supermarket/B&B for overnight stay beforehand
Would be good:
* Boats for use
* Can supply bait
Any suggestions welcome - thanks.

Was thinking Labby. Ta. But it's become very popular over the last few years, so not sure we'd get a booking. Thanks again.

You could hire Fox lake inclusive on the Abbey complex .
No need for boats but can use bait boats .
Good chance of some big fish .

Check out La Botte on the Goncourt complex. Massive heads of huge carp, all the facilities you require and very well run.

Thanks boys. We've got Botte booked for 2024, but given the demand for the place (especially post-Covid), I know that it's rammo for 2023 (we were on Charlie last month and had a chat to Pascale about it).
Will have a look at Fox on Abbey. Cheers.

Have fished the Carp Zoo - have been on there with 10 but heard Tom will allow more for exclusive. booking. Bait boats charging points and boat hire. our group have had fifties on each of 3 visits. facilities good and brekkie delivered to swim and dinner too although we generally gather for a drink and dinner at the lodge. check FB. town a couple of miles for B&B supermarket. Ruille-sur-Loir closest town. will be just over the 4 hrs always about 5 for me.
