I have never bought a new phone normally I buy used ones when people upgrade

my current phone is a Galaxy S7edge but its sadly on the way out so my question is my friend tells me there are lots of fake ones so ? how can you tell if its gen or fake ?
I see the Galaxy S10 plus being sold for around £250 ish thats about my budget
any help advice please

All electrical goods I now buy off Amazon, sadly Ebay is full of really good looking fakes.

Facebook marketplace is also worth looking at.

yes I just bought a refurbed Galaxy S10 plus from Amazon with 12 months guarantee and peace of mind knowing its not a fake or a stolen phone

today I heard about someone that bought a phone and the seller hadnt finished paying for it on his contract and the phone was switched off and locked 2 weeks after he bought it !!!

I saw something the other day that the contract company owns the phone for the first 6 months.

Facebook marketplace is flooded with Iphone 13Pro, people trying to make a quick buck buts its easy enough to cancel your phone contract.

There are websites that you can check black list check the phones IMEI to see if it's stolen or a cloned IMEI

IMEI is the unique 15 digit number on every device, located in the device.

It's very difficult for 2 devices with the same IMEI to be on the Samsung network, there software detects the duplicate and removes access., if it can detect the duplicate.
The newer Samsung software to re- write IMEI's was launched in 2020 that is very difficult to get around..
