I know there's a few keen BBQists on here so I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of a decent gas bbq for the home. There's just the 2 of us and it will get used quite a lot, even through winter so a 2 or 3 burner should suffice. I've had a few cheap ones but always find the flame tamers hard to replace once they go so looking for one that I can easily source replacement parts for if and when needed. Not looking for anything top of the range, say no more than £300 if possible.

Simple answer mate. Get a chimney starter for less than 20 quid and buy charcoal bbq. You will have got coals in 15/20 mins and better tasting food

I bought one of these last year, I mainly use it with charcoal only using the gas to light it, but it's good as a gas grill too. Side burner is handy for particles too

Only negatives that may not apply to you, the drip tray pulls out from the back for cleaning, pain in the bum for my outdoor kitchen, and it doesn't have Vents fitted to control temperature when using charcoal

I can't say I've really noticed any difference in taste after switching from charcoal to gas mate, maybe it's just my taste buds?

They are decent, it's my second one, the first lasted nearly 10 years, spares were still available too, it just got to the point it needed new grates, tamers, basket...
Probably would've cost more to fix it up than buy the one in the link

The hybrid grills are a great idea too

On the bbq topic I see a cobb type portable in tesco, tempted to get one

If you can go £100 more, buy this Weber. In the long run it'll outlast anything else and always have spares available.
