I know this has been discussed a few times before and I have made bait in this manner in the past.
Used spices and shrimp paste.
Just curious to know and other additives / combinations worth a try.

The world is your oyster mate. Spices are the best way imo, you can create your own personal blend to give your bait a unique note. Just play about with small batches and find what works for you, and at what levels. If you have an Asian supermarket nearby go and have a look around, they are a treasure trove when it comes to bait making and can give you allsorts of ideas

Sounds like the old Pete B mix would suite, has chilli powder and belechan block in it, no other flavours necessary

Powdered ingredients are, IMO, far superior to flavours (and even hydros to a degree) which can be affected more/ denatured by the boiling process. If you include the likes of PDFM, liver powder, GLM, Brocacel, belachan etc to the basemix then it will be inherently attractive anyway

Thanks for the input folks.
Looking to use the shrimp paste from wing yip with the BAF Trop base with maybe some garlic powder ( Tesco raja range).

I did make some bait with spice, vecon and block to mirror the Pete B attractor package.
First trip had a mid 20 after ten minutes fishing but for the next few weeks.

Have a look at some of the chinese fish stock/ soup type mixes too. By their very nature they're incredibly soluble, often salty and very fishy
