I have a 11ft beach caster sat In the shed being un used, it has 25lb mono on it-I also have 30lb braid somewhere (which I'll use if my question gets the positive answers), would this be okay for spodding? Or would I have to get a designated spod rod?

It will be fine mate. 12 foot would of been better. You wont hit mega distances but it will do the job if its rated to 6 -8 ounces like mist beach casters. Defo ditch the 25lb mono though and use the braid 👍🏻

Yeah through so! I've actually been offered a bait boat (cheap!) May use that instead as I'm a syndicate member, so will rarely fish other waters.

People used to use beachcasters before spod rods were invented. should be fine, just make sure you have an adequate shockleader
