Been mooching around the Penn website for general info. Maybe looking at getting rid of mega expensive reels and replacing with these??🤭

What I can't find out easily is spool info. Is a Penn 7000 size similar to a Shimano 10000/12000 size ( big pit not Baitrunner ) or a Daiwa 10000etc.

I know the size does depend on line capacity and therefore depth of spool, but as a rule of thumb Shimmy 10000's and Daiwa 10000/10500 etc spools tend to be around 40mm long and Daiwa Basia's 45mm.

Are the Penn 70000 range approx 40mm long with the depth comparable to Shimano's and Daiwa? I live in a rural area so can't easily pop into a shop to check physically so any help would be appreciated.

The penn 7000 spool is longer and smaller diameter than a shimmy big pit spool i would say more like the basia spool

I would say so too,I don't think it's quite as long as a basia but deeper so still has good line capacity

Yes the line capacity was good the reels do cast very well, there was very little difference in distance when i tried them with 0.38mm mono against my xt techs

May buy one of the Custom Carbons and see how it measures up against a Basia QDX. Seen one at a good price 👍
