Thinking of treating myself to a set of Basia reels but not sure if I can justify the cost. For the price of one QDX I could replace my tournies with two new reels. That said I've always had my eye on Basia's. Will likely go for the QDX, the SLR or some of the customs from the site.

Depends what worth it means. I'd imagine they will add a couple of yards range on an extreem cast over a tournie. Im not sure how much, but id imagine its litterally a couple of yards. If you were at the point that a couple of extra yards was the difference between a bite or not, then worth it all day long.
If not, its just what you feel happiest sat behind. If you have the money to spend, and ypu like the look and feel of them, then why not. Its worth it to you.
But if you were going to end up paying £50 a month for the next 10 years for them. Then absolutely not.

Much prefer the SLD over the others but the retrieval rate is shocking and you here the drag going in the Korda OD videos..yuk, sounded like sand paper when Danny got a run

I think the SLD are,
The SCW 19 isn't.....When you have the 2 side by side you can see where the cost cutting has occurred in several places.
I'd say it's more of an upgraded Emblem than a Basia.

I didn't like either of them when I had them,I now have the 20 scw.These are my favourite reel I have owned out of them all

The retrieval rates are a big difference, I'd only be looking at the slower 4.1-1 models personally, not that I'm in the market for any at the moment

Personally having a particular well known tackle company state the basia's where junk and refused to sell them and insisted I get tournies and more over go else where to purchase them. I'd not bother. This was ten years ago and personally I wouldn't bother having heard and watch friends die over those years.
I do have a set of original ISOs that once serviced where as good as my 6Ks although both have trade offs.
