Just bought one... mainly for small river / stream work but also might lend themselves to perch on canals and small carp on still water's...

at first glance don't seem underfunded to lob a 1.5oz lead but enough in the tip to see sensitive chub knocks..

anyone have one and can give an opinion.?

Took them out for a spin last night on what can only be described as the " dark side of our sport " , heavily stocked commercial with fish to low doubles crawling up your line ...not my cup of tea really. Paired them with 7lb line and some small match reels ( matching reels naturally ) ... certainly did the trick.. only thing with 6ft rods it takes some getting used to the playing of fish... didnt feel undergunned clubbing this stamp of seal...

Think you would begin to struggle mid doubles and up.. definitely a no go on snaggy conditions..

Perfect river chub and small barbel i would imagine though.

Casting weight wise... full blooded casts 1oz,,, on a river i think you could get away with lobs up to 1.5 oz but that would not likely hold bottom too well... i did lob some method feeders out that probably weighed 2oz but would not risk a full blooded cast as it felt too much for the rod..

ideal weight 1 to 1.5oz IMO
