I have been told that many of the Nash team rate this 6' sawn off 2lb rod as the best of the bunch for surface fishing, and that Alain Blair uses it all the time. I have a few Scopes but fancy this one, but need to use 12lb were I fish, what are the views of owners please, just some feedback would be great.

Have these 6” 2lb sawn off rods but would always prefer a longer rod for surface fishing to get more distance. Have Harrison 11” 4-piece avons that I use for that.

Could see that being the case at close quarters but anything at a distance you need a longer blank to pick the line up off the surface quickly on the strike.
I use the 10ft 2.25 tc Scope for my surface work and find it superb...

I am genuinely grateful, but thats not what I asked. Much of the places I fish nowadays, anything over 9' would be too big, and I mostly just cast the bait without any controller. Thanks again both of you.

On a recent holiday I used my 6ft 2lb scope for surface fishing just using a size 10 hook and floating bread. It handled superbly for carp up to 15 pounds, haven't caught anything bigger with it yet. They cope really well and managed to stear them out of the weed.

Sonik xtractor recon 8ft 2.5tc would be a good rod and a lot cheaper I wouldn't take notice of these tackle teams as said get what's right for you I am currently using a xtractor 6ft with a mini spod baiting up on big river I am sure if people saw me they would laugh there heads off but I was shocked first time I cast with it how far it went

Of course the nash team are going to say that. They arent going to suggest you use the rods you already have.

Well said there salesman after all I recommended the 8ft as a minimum as a step up from the 6ft as you can't get an 11ft retractable in a low tc as far as I know but really an all round floater rod should be 11ft a barbel 2.25 ideal or the esp floater one is good

I have a 6ft dwarf 2lb and with a bread bomb it's excellent so I can imagine the scope is a lot better 👍🏽
