Want to give my tempest v2 bivvy a good clean and water proofing, is fabsil or fabsil gold the best product to use? Thanks

You need a cleaning product first then recoat. Gold is ment for breathing fabric. Nikwax tent cleaner will clean it well.

clean warm water and Wilko pure SOAP in liquid or flakes and rinse well after its clean
but never never any form of detergent as you will struggle to reproof it again ..........Fabsil is great
I have to say these nutters that reproof modern bivvys every year need to give their heads a wobble
Im sure the answer must be condensation that they are confusing with leaking unless they have a faulty one holed or something ?
I have bivvys 10 years old and never needed reproofing

I recently did my Tempest v2 bivvy, as Gerry said I've never bothered before or seen the need but it was filthy and a bit faded so I thought why not.
I used the Fabsil 'Tent and Gear Cleaner' and then the Fabsil Gold 'Universal Protector'. Put it in an old squirty bottle, sprayed it on in sections and then sponged it over. Bivvy looks brand new now I have to say. A 1 litre tin did the full bivvy and the skull cap.
Basically using this technique HERE

Bang on only time I did it was to try save one as it had delamination of fabric. Orange peel effect. Didnt work all re sealing does is increase the beading effect and will not save damaged fabric.
