Morning, I'm looking at this pair for £135 second hand. Can't seem to find out what the test curves are though which is odd .. are these rods any good or should i look elsewhere? Particularly after a decent used marker rod

They're both fast action rods, so it's not that odd as the test curve doesn't really matter. They're probably 4.5tc to 5.5tc depending on what length the model is. Tip recovery is the all important thing

No worries.

I was thinking about buying custom built Free Spirit rods about 15 years ago. I didn't bother in the end, as I was really surprised at how sloppy the blanks were, especially considering the reputation of Free Spirit and the very high price.

As for a spod and marker rods, I'm still using Greys Prodigy. I've had them 17 years now and they still do the job. The spod rod especially, has had an absolute hammering. But, I still cast it 120yds plus no problem at all

ok thanks - Johnson Ross recommended the Free Spirit Spomb/Marker CTX.. think I'll just use my spod rod as a marker for now til I make my mind up!
