I'm in need of a power source and looking at the Loungeboxes from Carplounge, however, they just seem like an overpriced car battery.
Has anyone got one of these or have any experience with a power source similar?
Ideally, I want something that will power my laptop whilst I work, and of course power other things such as my phone. Any recommendations?

I have the slightly older version which is a thinner one to what they do now although I do believe they still sell the one I have. I have done 7-10 days riding the wild french rivers with an outboard attached without them running out so powering a laptop shouldn't be an issue. The one I have is half the price now then when I brought it 👍

Jesus, that's some power output. Which model have you got? Are they similar to a car battery or is there more to it?

Got the original 100 ah one which they recon is the equivalent to a 200ah lead acid .It's fantastic yes it's expensive but i it's unreal for the weight .I don't run a electric outboard but charge my phone boat battery's ecig and run a TV and the lowest it's ever been on after a weeks fishing is 70 %

So even the 60ah models would be fine for what I need.
Seen those Trakker bucket home made jobbies on Facebook which appear to have a car battery modified inside of them. Makes me wonder about the quality of output whether it would be sufficient or not. And then it's asking the question around why a loungebox vs one of these home made power banks.
Any electrical engineers on this forum that can shed any light on this topic?

Lead acid are chite and old hat .Heavy as hell forthe little power output they have .My lounge box has as much power as as 2 caravan leisure battery's that you could barely lift .The ridgemonkeys are good I also have one of those for when going for a long weekend and they fit in my tackle bag .You see people knocking them and going on about these little 20to30quid ones but they are talking out of their arses.Most of them are way overlated power wise and what they fail to understand is the power output is usually at 1v the ridgemonkey is at 5v so it' holds more power and they are not comparable .Without going extreme the ridgemonkey would do most people I even use mine for my TV also .I believe fox now do one but have no experience of that

Like the look of the RidgeMonkey and Fox power banks combined with a solar panel. Small, compact and offers quite a bit of power.
I need to power/charge my laptop for about a day, maybe two at most (+ phone) and RidgeMonkey offer USB C output however I need to convert a 3 pin (laptop cable) to be able to connect to a power bank of some sort.

Search for the Beaudens 240wh
I have one and it's fantastic will last 3-4 days charging loads of things. Solar panel it has efficient charging too

I was quite excited at reading 75Ah for that money , but its
78,000mAh 312Wh. 26Ah @12v , still not bad though
