Anyone have any information on the priory marina lake in Bedford thinking of getting a ticket

Lots of bream apparently,and not much in the way of carp. Was a good few years ago I was told that by the balliff so maybe different now

I pretty much walk it every other day or so. There was actually 3 guys bivvied up last night, which is rare to see.
Currently the 'fishing bank' side of the lake is weeded to level i have never seen before, it is thick from the bird hide right down to the disabled swim and right across to the island.
The bream are a massive pain, i once ploughed thro 28 of them to eventually land a 17lb common.
There are deffo carp in there but with half the lake non fishing and the option for the fish to move into the boating marina you never actually know what your fishing for. Taking into account the masses of public and there pets, the walk to the swim and general lack of showing fish i dont see it as an attractive proposition.

Didn't realise the bream were that bad, balliff said they could be a pain to carp angling but wow. Actually only like fished it a couple of times in winter and we caught sod all then, did t even see the balliff until the second trip where he informed us piking was pretty much a waste of time there too

Can go and catch Bream on the river for nothing mate if your just looking for a bargain.
