Are they any good or just a gimmick? Thinking of getting one for my tempest xl and ive been told the 150 cap fits the xl.

I bought one for my Tempest V2, I think they are a waste of money TBH for the tiny bit of extra protection you get.

It's more the stopping condensation which is the benefit. Plus it's quite a lot of extra cover you gain, when compared side by side it's obvious

I have a Tempest Bivvy
and would NEVER EVER use it without the skull cap it stays on permanently in summer it keeps the bivvy a LOT cooler !!!!!
and in winter helps stop condensation on the roof where it matters and of course its warmer too
I just dont see the point in not using one if you have one
