Hi everyone I've noticed fox do swim mapper app. As you are probly all aware you take pictures of swims and cam place markers on the picture. I know this has been out for a while I'm just wandering if it's any good or if there anything better out there. Tia

I've had it since it came out and find it really useful. I like the fact you can share the info with your mates

I use it, very good app. Just don't loose your phone! But you can sync to another device, but only iPhone to iPhone or android to android.

Since 2013 I have been using Textmaker and Planmaker for Android from the Google Playstore to keep my "journals" in on my phone or tablet. I can basically store anything I want in them and its just basically just like using a Microsoft package. I can take pictures of swims, fish etc and edit them with another program if I want to put marks on the pictures etc. Each year I start a new journal, and can do whatever I want with them, join them all together to make a big one, turn them into PDF's, print them out, copy them onto the PC and redit them in MS Word. Search for things etc, There is no need to type weather information in, just go online to your preferred weather site and copy and paste the weather into your journal, if the weather does something different, then just edit it later in the day, to say it rained all day instead of being sunny.
Some days, I just take a picture of the swim, and that captures everything without having to put words to "paper", I get the weather, and wind direction by the waves etc and the swim itself that I was in.
You can also go on fishing sites online and once again, copy and paste things into a separate journal etc for reference later. And, rather than type into the journal, just use Google speech to text and watch your words appear as you talk, just check no one is stood behind the bivvy first or they may think you have a screw loose talking to yourself.
When the Fox one came out, I looked at it and thought its very limited to what you really can do with it and never looked at it again. In fact, I thought it was garbage its that basic to what I was doing with just a straight forward word processing package.
I forgot to add, for information about individual swims I use a "Memory Map" application, "Schematic Mind Map" and if I want to know about a swim, I just open that up and look for the swim and find out all I need to know, marks, distances, depths, snags etc and add anything new to it as I find out new things.
Textmaker and Planmaker are now bundled under "SoftMaker Office 2021 for Android", works on a phone or a tablet and is free to use apart for one or two things you cannot do, like print, but you just save as a word document and print out on your PC at home.
