Does anyone else make their boilies fresh at home for each session in small batches and fish them without freezing them?

Just wondering your thoughts on this being a massive edge over everybody else's freezer burnt baits? Or whether you think it makes little difference.

Tbh I do a bit of both without seeing a difference. The only thing that I do find is that freezer baits tend to have a more potent smell in terms of flavour than a fresh made bait.. Hasn't affected catch rates though.

I'm not totally sure its a massive edge but I think fresh bait is good. I make my own and more often than not I get some out of the freezer. However, my hookbaits are normally ones that I've worked on with liquids, powders, drying out etc so they last a while just in my bag. And they are definitely an edge on my water.

I haven't got use of a bait freezer so have to roll bait twice a week. A 12 egg mix for Tuesday and Thursday night and another 12 for the weekend, anything spare I lob in.

No idea whether I would catch more if I froze it but my results are comparable with other anglers on the lake plus I don't get much choice, if I don't roll it fresh I don't have any bait.

Been doing it for a good few years now and it's definitely an edge.

Probably due to how much time I spend there rather freezing my bait or not
Are you sure?
