I'm looking to buy a rod to do some float fishing for big carp, Carp up to 30lb and occasional snaggy swims so needs to have some backbone, what would you recommend ? Would a floater rod be up to the job or something a little more powerful ? Cheaper the better as it will get thrown about and laid on the floor etc.

have a look at the tacklebox dareth valley rods.
I have landed carp to 1oz under 40lb on the 11 foot 1.25lb of a float fished pellet
