Pretty good price for a essential bit of kit IMO !

these are brilliant for bagging up baits at home that extends the life of them and of course food on the bank IT CANT GO BAD if its not got any air !
I make up stews and currys seal them in the bags then simply drop the bag in a pan of boiling water on the bank the possibilities are are endless BE THE BEST 20 QUID YOU WILL SPEND ITS EVEN GOT A 3-year warranty !!!!!!!!!

Had one for years, great bit of kit, esp for meals like lasagne and cottage pie for keeping them intact, I freeze them in a tub then vacuum pack.

I purchased one 7 years ago used it a lot the first year just don't bother with it, couldn't justify it really as self life's last and frozen are used within a few months anyway. The amount of un necessary waste of plastic was my main concern although I have recycled most of the bags. Sure they have their place but hardly essential for what I was using them for. As for basemix that has a shelf life regardless of being vacuum packed, their is usually enough oxidisation with in the product for it to go foul regardless of vacuum sealing.

thanks for sharing your situation but we are not all like you
some people go for 1 or 2 weeks some like to keep the bacon and bangers from going rotten after a few days on the bank in the heat of the summer
my frozen vacuum packed baits were great after over a week
as people that know me know I used to spend 5 or 6 weeks a year fishing in France often on lakes with zero facilities and can tell you my Vacuum packer was a life saver

point of interest most domestic home freezers say frozen food should be kept for up to 3 months however
just by vacuum packing it then freezing it shoots to over 12 months
my cooked and uncooked food that I vacuum packed meant I could spend a week at the lake without driving to a town for food

Can't say I've spent a week anywhere without going to get supplies usually find a cool box more than sufficient. I'll bare it in mind.

The other benefit is you can actually heat vacuum packed food up by boiling it in a pan of water, essentially boil in the bag style and saves dirty pots & pans, it also allows you to use pre cooked meals that are vacuum packed to act as ice blocks within your cool box and then fill all gaps up with ice cubes preventing the need to go to the shops for fresh supplies as you can take it all with you and if you have a high end cool box you can keep ice for 5 to 7 days, but even longer periods with it being cold enough to keep fresh food from perishing.
Are you sure?

This action cannot be undone.
