Anyone got any recommendations for a spod and marker rod... ideally one Rod to do both I have a budget of £100-£120

I am using the Tackle Box CTX 12ft spod rod (4.5lb TC). Slightly over budget at £160 (price currently reduced).
Been using it for spodding and marking for 18 months. Fantastic bit of kit. A lot of rod for the money.

Only used mine once but its very nice

Since you can buy a free spirit ctx spod rod I'll have to correct you, the tackle box rods are cfx

Im going tacklebox in a few weeks so will have a look at that one Cheers mate. I may be able to stretch to that if I save a bit lol

I use the CF-X marker rod for spodding with a dot spod or medioum spomb up to 80 yards and deeper use etc.

Tackle Box CF-X Black Edition Marker Rod 12ft 3.75lb (50mm)

I really like it compared to a greys spod+ rod that was very difficult to load on the cast.

What range are you fishing up to?

Max range I will need to fish is around 70-80 yards but I wont have to fish that long all the time. Will be my 1st time using a spod rod so I won't be fishing at long range just yet lol

If you're fishing at 60-80 yards you probably don't need to spend that sort of money.

I've got an old fox warrior S, that's been abused for the last 6 or 7 years. I can put a large spomb comfortably over 100yds.

Put he rest of your money into a half decent spod reel with a fast retrieve.
