Hi there, I'm looking for advice re sinking mainlines. The fishing situation is close in with all sorts of weed and debris on the bottom, and, very little time to spend on accurate location. Using mainly chod rigs on slack line close in is what I've plannen so far. leadcore is an option and I've used it for some time with all sorts of mainlines (not overly happy with what I've tried so far) during the years. I'm also keen on trying the naked chod to get rid of the leadcore.
Best choice would obviously be xLine or Kontour, disadvantage would be the price and I'm also having a hard time to source the xline (i'm on the continent, german myself) and the kontour, which is only available on 200 metres spools.
I'd have to use some kind of backing which is probably not a good idea? Or will I get away with say a korda touchdown mono? Possibly not sinking well enough and not suitable for tying a naked chod on?

Backing is fine to use. If you can get it then gr60 sinks well, and apparently the esp stuff does too

I use the Avid outline camo in 18lb. I use naked chods just fine with it . Sinks just as well as any fluorocarbon I've ever used. About £25 for 1000yds.
