Hi chaps got a family holiday in June and it would be rude not to have the scopes in the car, does anyone on here know if Queen's Park in heywood near Manchester is free fishing??

Yeah its round the corner from me, I've fished it a few times and it is free fishing. There's a few in there but it is choked full of weed well it was the last time I went last August, it was so bad you could have walked across it.

There's a path that borders it all the way round and its pretty narrow, so all the cyclists pass within inches of your gear. The best place is immediately down the main path on the concrete platform it just depends whether you can find a weed free spot.

I reckon there's some 20s in there but it gets battered by kids and there's the odd Polish family on their that go in search of their tea.

I've never had anything out of it, mainly because I prefer to drive to my club lakes but it will be alright if you go with no expectations.

Cheers bud we are going in June so I reckon it will be a case of sight fishing rather than anything else, couldn't find any info on any day tickets near Chorley so resorted to looking for park lakes

Not sure of the stock, but the rivington reservoirs may be worth a look.

Limbrick used to be fun for a bit of pleasure fishing. No huge carp but a nice day water.

Also fished lakeside with an old lad who was chorley based. Carp used to run to mid 20's

Been a while since I've been to either but if you are chorley way then worth a Google. Also maybe try Coppull anglers who have the local knowledge

Thanks for the info guys we are up there for a week in a holiday cottage right by a set of three lakes but google comes up with nada, I will google the places you chaps suggested we just want one day fishing so somewhere with a chance of a bend in the rod will be perfect
