Right guys, I'm looking at buying a set of custom rods, basically I want a rod that's capable of casting up to 110-120 yards max but will comfortably cast 3oz leads 90-100 yards, I fish really silty lakes so I don't want to be using anything above a 3-3.5oz lead, most of my fishing is a max of 80-90 yards but want the power there to go a little further if required. Looking at the aviator flex, would they be up to the job or any others you may recommend up to around £350 per rod. Also been looking at free spirit xs and the 3.25 torrix which I'm going to have a play with my mates set, but thinking they maybe a little stiff for what I want. Cheers 👍

From what I have heard and read I would say the aviator plus would be more suited. I am in the same boat and I have gone with a set of aviator plus 2s which are beefed up version of the plus , so 3.5tc

I have a set and they are perfect for what you describe imo. They are really nice to play fish on and will chuck a lead a long way too

I have a set for medium waters. Have with torzite titanium rings, used them upto 120 without any issue at all and really nice to play fish on. They do everything i want from a rod. You'll properly be over gunned with the plus

Agree with all the comments below, theres plenty of grunt low down in the blank to deal with weedy snaggy situations and they do zing a lead out there but they have a lovely firm playing action. I had the aviator plus for a while but they were too powerful for my venues and girly arms

Flex is the rod you want.

Agree with all the other posters, do not get the torrix 3.25, they will do what you want, but are a plank of a blank.
