I wanted a couple of cheap alarms for a river setup, originally I brought a couple of the new fox mini microns and returned them same day due to them being a POS. I thought the S9's looked quite neat so brought a pair (individually). Now I think I know the answer to this but do you need the receiver in order to use the app and ultimately change any setting other than the light colour?

I use these alarms. I've never seen any instructions for paring the alarms directly to the app rather than the receiver so I'm guessing that it can't be done.

Yeah I use and rate the alarms, haven't seen an option to link direct though.

I do rate the alarms though, haven't let me down yet

Agreed, I'm very pleased with the alarms and how easy it is to adjust them on my phone. I also got the wrist band and light that link to them

Alarms seem half decent, found a receiver on ebay for £35 new. Arrived today glad I got it to set the alarms but can't see it lasting long quality seems awful even for the price.
