Hi everyone
Hope you are all well
I bought myself a set of tx7s 13ft intensity furthest I've ever cast with the cheapest rods I've ever owned
My problem now is I can cast further than I can spod
So I'm looking for a new spod and marker set up
The venue I'm fishing this year is all distance work 160yrds+
Any positive advice appreciated
Kind regards
Sto

Grab one of those medium Spombs - was banging out the Fox medium variant to around 170+yds quite happily; goes like an absolute missle - some whiplash 8 in green .008, or even better the .006, 50lb braided shock leader and whatever Spod rod you decide on.
The ranges you're talking about are very much achievable with one of those Grey's XSM spod rods which I've got and know it's more than capable of those ranges - I'm not that keen on the Grey's due to do so chepo eyes.
Although very expensive, there is the Shimano Intensity spod and marker that by the sounds of it is a joy to use - nice and light and shouldn't have you absolutely exhausted banging out say 10kg of the good stuff. The XSM is heavy and is a good work out as a comparison.
