I buy only two Fox items, one is their line aligners which I've not had a problem with and the Impact Spod. I recently bought a large Total Tackle Fox Spod which fell apart within 7 casts which was bloody annoying - this was a back up for an old Impact Spod which is still going strong after 3 years I think.
Fast forward to today, because I'm fishing at mega long range, I went and ordered a medium Fox Spod, I think I was 10 casts in and it started behaving funny reeling it back in. After having a look at it, where the door/ flap connects to the hinge, it's cracked and the flap won't shut properly. It's fugged.

Have you contacted Fox ? Perhaps its a dodgy one as your first sounds as if it was pretty durable ?

Not yet. I've sent a message to the shop I bought it from and see what they say. I did send pics so they can see how gash it is. I do like them as they are very, very accurate and absolutely fly, just a shame they're so lightweight and just fold like a cheap deckchair.

I bought an AD badged model of the fox impact spomb some years ago, the plastic snapped on one side of the lid at the point it joins the spring, which sounds similar to your experience. This happened on it's second trip. However even though the lid was now only attached at one side of the spring I could still close the lid so continued to use it, amazingly it remained usable for a further three years. I now have a genuine fox version and one year in so far so good.

Sounds exactly the same as what happened to me mate.
Hope I can get it replaced. I have a medium Spomb made by Spomb, though I find they don't go as far as the Fox ones do when I've used the larger size.
