Been trying to get in touch with the baliff/manager at St. Ives to get a ticket sorted but have had no luck. Tried Fb email and phone is it worth taking a trip to the complex or is it not manned at all? Any help is appreciated

Gordy Howes is the gentleman in charge iirc. I think the best place to get in touch with him is to put a post on the Facebook group for St Ives. I think the group is joinable by anyone.
Getting to the site at the moment might still be impossible. Last week about a quarter of the whole town of St Ives was under water as the Ouse broke its banks. It might well be the case that Gordy and the bailiffs might be trying to come to terms with the extent of the flooding.

Got a few mates on there mate. I think Gordy has far too many time waster type enquiries best thing is to download the form complete it then contact him when your ready to pay. He will then sort you ticket if available.

Can always give st ives tackle a ring . Ask for Mickey he will point you in the right direction . Use to get my winter ticket from there when I was like fishing st ives

Hi guys,i know Gordys a busy man and hard to get hold of but has anyone heard on the grapevine from current members regarding any fish losses at the complex due to the floods?
I know people who are now wary of joining/parting with their money until theyre sure the complex hasnt lost fish,in reality we wont know until the autumn i suppose when the seasons captures have been analysed

which lake are we talking about ? it floods most years as does all the surrounding lakes like fen / ferry ect. All looks ok to me over there at the moment.. longreach meadow and shallow are secure..

Woh,ok 'fireblade',calm the hell down.
Unless im mistaken i thought the whole point of a Forum is to ask questions to the masses hoping someone in the know has the answers.no good jumping on your high horse and shouting down on people.
If im spending £500 plus on a ticket to a venue im not familiar with which regularly floods then anyone with half a brain cell would ask the obvious......'are the fish still in there',its perfectly normal.
Im sure people joined Savay in the 80s hoping to catch Sally only to find out she may have gone on holiday down the River Colne at some stage never to be seen again,id rather ask the right questions first before parting with my dollar so in future please produce an informative reply based on hard facts,im sure this would be much appreciated by all concerned.
Btw like i said in my earlier post nobody including you will know for sure what remains and whats gone each year after seasonal flooding because unless everywhere is fenced 20ft high im afraid theyre curious animals and often go walkies.all we have to go on is catch reports and the odd sighting in the warmer months,for example how often in a season is Mutleys seen swimming around in 30 acre Long Reach?,hardly ever is the answer but we know its there because it gets caught confirming its existance,i rest my case.
People need to calm down in life in general guys,theres way too much aggression around,especially on forums and social media,after the period weve had with Covid think of Captain Tom and what he stood for.'just be nice' to people he said,great life lesson.help out abit more when people are struggling,that way when you finally slip the net under your target fish everyone will be happy for you and share the moment with you,lets appreciate our fabulous sport and the like minded anglers who pursue our legendary carp rather than being the grumpy,sad loner who hides himself away,doesnt talk to anyone and only cares about his ego and selfish targets,come on guys shape up......its only a bit of fishing

You've pretty much answered your own question without having to engage half a brain cell.... If it's not known until autumn what is in the lakes after "analysing catch reports" then surely it will be a gamble every spring whether or not to buy a ticket? There's obviously nobody fishing now since the last floods, and won't really be until gone renewal time, apart from locals on days, so it's an almost impossible question to answer.
I mean you could buy a ticket, pretend it's the 1990s and just go fishing.... Enjoy the unknown, if you catch then great, if not then there's worse places to blank.

I couldnt agree more,most places flood each year and yes you take your chances buying tickets hoping Single Scale or Gertie hasnt disappeared especially if your chosen venue isnt fenced very well,if its prone to flooding then i think most peoples minds would naturally turn to the question of whether their prized target will still be attainable in the coming months.having toyed with joining the complex this year my initial thought was to enquire on this forum and with Gordy whether any current members had a St Ives sit-rep post flooding thats all,i fish all over the Cambs area and for years one of the first questions i ask concerns whether the stock im hoping to catch and pay big fees for are still in the lake,its not meant to sound cheeky but seems the common sense thing to do to me when joining expensive syndicates,you just hope the owner or bailiffs give you their honest opinion.on the fenced fisheries its not a worry but places like Ferry,Far Fen etc...its very possible it could turn into a long,expensive blank if you dont enquire with people on the ground.

they don't go far in longreach, water was high but didn't spill. Fully has just been caught twice in a matter months after 5 years missing. People to quick sometimes to say their gone. Same on fen and ferry. there all still there.

It's only really the pits closest to the Ouse where there's a very small risk of fish going walkies - most years they get flooded as it bursts its banks. I've even caught from the Lagoon as it's been filling up! Fish loss, carp wise, is rare, very rare. In fact, in some years we've seen zander get into the Lagoon and grow on. So, fish gain! Shallow, Fjords, Meadow? Yeah, all become one, not so much Shallow, but again, that seems to happen almost every year and the fish tend to stay in their homes. Biggest issue is actually getting access to the pits. Some years, certain areas got unfishable. These pits are located on a flood plain... same as when I fished Ferry, Drayton, Woolpack, etc. Not much has changed in the 20 years I've spent fishing all these pits adjacent to the Ouse. No one is out to stitch people up either - how people think that the guys running these waters will have a crystal ball when it comes to what's there and what isn't I don't know. You pay your money and takes your choice. Sadly, that's the way of it with many of these pits along the Ouse - it floods, some years, it really floods and yep, very occasionally carp have been displaced,. One year I helped rescue a load that got trapped in a field as the flood water rescinded... long story, but we saved them all.
