I am lucky enough to be spending 3 nights at little horseshoe over Christmas, I'm staying in water Lilly lodge any tips or things i should be aware of please? Thanks in advance

Lucky man. Thats a lovely spot.
This time of year i'd be fishing the deeper water behind the bar that runs parallel to your bank - between the island opposite and the submerged plateau to the left. You'll need a decent length leader though to avoid cut offs. Also take plastic hookbaits - the crayfish can be a problem.

A friend stayed there in the summer with his missus and had a great few days angling with around 7 fish fishing just the days, the best being a fully scaled at just over 30 and some nice old commons.
Tactics wise you can get away with going very simple, bags with fake corn hookbaits did the business for him.

Thanks for the advice really appreciate it, had sussed the crayfish issue. Any idea of the current stock please?

Biggest I've had out was a 36lb mirror. Mainly low to mid twenties though. That fully scaled is a stunning fish.
