I've found the dna fluoro popup to be much more bouyant than sticky ones admittedly the corkdust foodbait ones aren't brilliant.

How do sticky 16m wafters behave with a size 5 hook ? Are they pretty much a bottom bait with their weights then ?

I've also got to admit I've never had a proper with sticky pop ups being less buoyant than any others? There is a video on YouTube with a bloke who uses a sticky pop up along side 2 others and it stayed buoyant for 10 days I think (might be slightly wrong on that)

Don't no if they have sorted the issue or not but honestly never had a problem, only thing I did have problem with there bait how ever was the pineapple wafters I had from them didnt last to long, I brought them in after 6/7 hours and it smelt of absolutely nothing and was almost washed out.

When I used them couple yrs ago I found initially they seemed quite boy-ant but after 3 or so hours out in the lake they sink like a brick. May of changed the recipe but from what someone told me I don't think they have. You'll definitely be fine with a size 5

Use Sticky dumbell wafters regularly. Was using them last week in solid bags and they remained buoyant for 20 hours. They were going in the water at about 3 in the afternoon and if no bite, they came out at 10 next morning. When I took them off and lobbed them in the lake they still popped straight back up and floated. Good enough for me. Had no problem with the pop ups either.

The dumbbells can be a good edge aswell mate, especially when everyone else is using standard 16mm wafters.

That's how I fish most the time anyway, I much prefer a wafter to a pop up. I only use a pop up if really have to, like they say if your doing everything the same as everyone else your only catch the same as everyone else. Your little change might make a big difference bud good luck 👍
