Can anyone recommend a line counter to use when spooling up reels? i.e. to measure your backing when splitting a spool of line between 3 reels.

Its ok but never checked for the accuracy but i just spool 200m on each time and always have a little left on a 600m spool after doing 3 reels, was about 10m last time

do you have to set it up back to front as its for measuring depth? Was looking at these but thought they maybe too much of a pita.

Counts up as i strip line off using a battery drill then down as i put back on

Yep, that's the one I use. Pretty sure I bought from The Tackle Shop, was a while ago though. Very handy when loading braid from bulk spools and for settling arguments on how far that island is
