They also do a slightly heavier duty one for DSLRs

Is that the one in the link with a handle instead of thumb dial?
Edit..So the thumb dial one is heavier duty?
Is the normal one man enough to take the odd pic
The handle appears easier to tighten etc

I have one of the gardner widgets from post 2, it's fine with a small mirror less camera and small prime, but is next to useless with a bigger lens or using a flash gun.
There are lots of good ball heads with qr plates for around £20, but you need to get a bit creative to fit one to a bankstick

Since this thread has gone quiet I'll ask a question here
I'm after an adaptor to make my bankstick setup more stable
Ideally it would be a 50mm ish disc, 3- 5mm thick with the 3/8th bsf bankstick thread on one side and a 3/8th 16 unc thread (standard thread for photo accessories) on the other.
I'd also want a grub screw to lock the head and holes to allow me to add lines to peg/weight it down but I could do this myself
Is anyone on here able to knock something like this up?

I tried Keith, he had neither the material nor the time and didn't see the point in it
There is a reason why every half decent tripod has this flat plate to mount a head on
