Hi all, I'm looking to book a fishing holiday to France for up to 6 Anglers. Not too far from the major ports, about 3 hours max. Would preferably be a runs water with high chance of catching some decent carp and catfish. I'm trying to get my mates into fishing and what this trip one they can't forget. Im fairly experienced and regularly go France fishing with another set of lads. I just want them to have some bend in the rods, a chance of a PB over 30lbs. Time of year would be towards end of October 2021. Would welcome any recommendations.

Try John at bountylemans.com he has got some cracking fish coming out at the moment and its not far from Caen.
He also does some good deals for winter.

Barbless hooks only which I don't agree with personally though to fish there.

All I can say to that is if you owned a Carp venue and you witnessed the number of your Carp with damaged mouths due to inexperienced anglers (I quote you “I'm trying to get my mates into fishing”) not able to take a barbed hook out properly then you would change your mind.
Le Bounty have some stunning looking fish and do our best to keep them that way.

I take your point on this John. I was looking at it from an experienced anglers point of view. I'm just not sure end of October fishing in France is the ideal weather to take my friends on a first trip due to lack of fish being caught around that time.

OK. October is usually a very good month to fish Le Bounty as it was this year.

I'm a teacher so it would be my half term which is towards the end of October. Looking at your catches, those weeks were quiet compared to the start?

I am not personally botherd where you go or when you go, but it was you who said "the end of October ", just looking at the pictures of the fish that are coming out of Le Bounty, thats why l recommended it. October was lovely and warm here this year. Barbless hooks, l have never lost a fish on one yet.

Have a look at the French lads on our Facebook posted 18th Oct.
We did not post all the catch reports this year but will be doing next season.

We fished it in November a few years ago , it was freezing and we caught plenty of carp up to 40lb and even had around 20 odd cats between us as well

And we're back out in may next year due to this years trip being cancelled which John moved without any fuss whatsoever 👍

Reckon you'd be asking for extra blankets at that time of the year
Are you sure?
