Does anyone have a 1st hand review of these? I can pick up 3 of them at cost and wondered how they would compare to my Shimano Ultegra XSD 14000
I've had the original Tournos 10000 for 5 years and they have been great reels.

I have the 8000 size and I love them. Superb reel for the money. Cant go wrong

I have no experience of the 10,000's as I have no need for a reel that large, but about 2 years ago, I bought a set of 3 of the 6000's to replace my Shimano baitrunners and a few others that I have always used since the mid 80's roughly and found that the Tournos 6000's are the best reels that I have ever used. Straight away I bought another 2 of them. And then a few weeks later bought a set off the 8000's for when I fish the larger lakes.
So far, they have been brilliant reels and ticked all the boxes but the only thing that I do not yet know is, how long will they last before they drop to bits or wear out.
I have a feeling though that they have stopped making them and replaced them with the Vader range but the only difference I see is the Vader's have a wooden handle but there may be more differences.

Yeah, I did wonder as these have the wooden handle too. Not really sure about it, need to get my hands on them I suppose as they just look a little plastic to me, just difficult at the moment!

They probably look a bit "plastic" because they are made from a carbon composite.
In fact, I would have thought in this day and age, a lot of "Carp Anglers" would be clamouring for them to go with there carbon sticks and pods and stainless steel cult items.

As I said, probably need to get my hands on them, I don't always go for looks over something that would last and I wouldn't be picking anything plastic over metal. They sound good by what you are saying anyway
