Hi all,

I've just received a couple of daiwa emblem 19 45 scw qd‘s. Had a play out of the box and weirdness seams apparent... when I turn the handle the bale arm doesn't trip over.

Quick look on YouTube and something about castlock? Not mentioned in the official spec from daiwa.

Anyone got any experience with this model and able to advise if this a fault or a feature?

A feature,its to stop the arm closing when casting to help prevent crack offs

Perfectly normal.

It's a manual bale system. Should flick it over manually anyway, pretty sure you add a twist to your line every time you flip it over with the handle

My Emblems are the same. Took me a while, but I have got used to them now.

Why would you want them to? Manual bail arm is a far better idea

Even when using reels with an auto bail arm it's always better practice manually closing them.
