hi.whats peopels opinions on the best ones to get. I have a snugpak torrent jacket but they don't do the matching trousers. Thanks.

Contrary to what people think, unless it has a W.Gore logo on it, it is not Gore-Tex. I get why people call surplus items "Gore-Tex" as the materials work in a similar fashion but there is a big difference between that "gore-tex" & genuine W.Gore Gore-Tex (which has to be used under strict license conditions from W.Gore so it performs as designed to).
Unless you want to pay for genuine Gore-Tex, then the next best thing I have used in many many years of angling in all weathers, is the Fortis Marine clothing. It is as close to genuine Gore-Tex as I have seen. I have been wearing my jacket & trousers in the recent heavy rain we have been having & not once got even damp wearing it. I used to wear genuine Gore-Tex when match fishing (mostly because it was given to me through sponsors as no way was I spending that sort of money that genuine Gore-Tex costs even if it is made to measure by Halkon Hunt) & again, could not justify spending almost £1000 on a windstopper, jacket & trousers/bib & brace in DPM/Olive Green.
Granted the Fortis Marine clothing is not cheap at £200 for the Jacket & £119 for the trousers, but if you shop around you may find a deal on somewhere - but if you want to stay dry & comfortable, I have not worn anything (non-Genuine Gore-Tex) better off the shelf
