Been eyeing this up for a while currently use an aqua m3 and with the extended wrap when I need to fit 2 bed chairs in or doing a long session. Not seen the 150 pioneer setup for size can it fit 2 beds long ways if needed? I'm 6ft2 and find the m3 a bit low is the pioneer better for head height? Is it as fast to throw up as a tempest I got the v2 Brolley and love the speed of that thing but looking for a faster bivvy now

Due to the design and sloping back of the pioneer you loose stacks of room inside compared to a tempest 150. You cant push your bedchair up against the rear because of the sloping back, its a crap design. You would never get two bedchairs in from front to back you wouldnt even get one in your feet would be sticking out of the front. I cant really see why anyone would buy one over a tempest from a size perspective. Dont think you will find anything faster than a tempest. I can put my tempest xl up in 45 seconds once it out of its bag. I paid £450 for mine from johnson ross. Im still not sure you would get two bedchairs in that either though. I wouldnt even pay £900 for a bivvy if i won 100 million on the euro lottery on principle of there piss taking prices these days and **** build quality, there not a patch on what they used to be.

Their seems to be far to much poor quality with these new overpriced pioneer models one to avoid imo for the money your paying for them

I have to agree with what Stuart says. and I've enjoyed an Original full-size Pioneer for over 10 years.
it can be set a good deal higher at the front than an armo however, its sloping back means all the height is at the front.
fine when going in sideways, which I prefer. but for two beds back to front it wasn't good even when I bought and tried an extended winter skin.
regarding speed. I have the new tempest 100t and it goes up a lot quicker than the pioneer. the pio is more like a heavy brolly. you need some strength and some technique to open it. then it's not free-standing until at least two side poles and a few pegs. speed wise it compared well to an old 5 section armo ok. but not as quick as the M3 or Cayman that came later and much much slower than a Tempest.
I can put up my two-man Trakker Cayman quicker than my Pioneer.
so, for what you want it for I can't think of anything worse mate lol

the Tempests just look Pot Noodle instant to me. banks are full of them
colours are all over the shop.

Ah thanks for the replies boys I'll look more into the tempest as practicality comes first even starting to think of selling the m3 buying a 2man armo for the odd times the mrs or kid wants to come and a tempest brolly advanced for the quicker sessions on my own
