This video will probably not appeal to alot of people on this forum ...but i thought i would put it up anyway to show its not always about chasing monsters and about being at one with nature
sometimes its great to just catch a carp of any size especially on a new water 1st time out after having to wait a year to fish it
sorry still not managed to figure out how to put a link to the video

Blimey, that's a proper lake. Well done for catching first time out!
I enjoyed the video, but those wasps were getting on my nerves too by the end of it. Was your coolbox full of jam sandwiches?

Thanks glad you enjoyed it
yes it was not your average carp video and i certainly didn't set out to film it like this
but as usual i left things at home ...normally batteries but this time a camera bag !!! and the 360 camera seemed to have a mind of its own so had to edit it accordingly
yes i only really have 3 lakes and 1 river to fish here in the Murcia region and they all different degrees of problems to contend with ...and we had massive floods here this time last year and the water levels are only now just returning to there usual time of year levels ...
the wasps here are a reall pain to deal with at this time of year and become really aggressive as more turn up during the day ....they must have an incredible sense of smell and it feels like they come miles to find the source of the smell and once in the swim they stay and you pack up or get stung which is usually what happens
Are there any monster carp in Murcia ? ....probably not as we still have a fish for the pot culture ....you will see scales in just about every swim ....even if they are not eating the carp themselves they will still take them home to feed the cats n dogs !!! ...also you can be fined for returning the carp as they are in invasive species here !!! even though they are stocked by the authorities ??? ....also i think the main reason for them not growing on is they breed too well and with no predators the lakes become over populated and the carp become stunted ....but every lake has an unknown monster lurking in its depths

Very nice down to earth video, hope the 1kg fish was a pb (lol), do you think the drone attracted the wasps rather than the smell of a fish or bait! Prefer to play golf in that area rather than fish, as I said an enjoyable watch!

1kg PB ....no i'm up with the big boys fishing Murcia 3KG's PB
a friend has been fishing in the Murcia region twice a week for 16 yrs and his PB is 6KG !!!
we do occasionally see a 10KG + monster but actually sitting down and catching these well life is too short as we have very restricted access to the lakes ....no night fishing .....no freebies allowed unless federated etc etc and very severe fines if caught by the SEPRONA ( basically agricultrural / fisheries ) these people do not take prisioners and we get checked most times we fish ....they usually arrive in 2's on big off road bikes so we can hear them for miles coming
so i usually bring my rods in as they will spend 10 mins going through my licence / insurance papers / reciepts for license / insurance ... then my residencia card ...and finally my driving license ...some then get the hump that i do not have my passport with me !!!!!! ....and they like to have a look in your car as well just to make sure you are not a drug smuggler ....Seprona are like a paramilitary police who are not accountable to anyone and you cross them at your peril
you can be fined for putting the carp back !!! and not killing them ...and you can be fined for killing them !! and not putting them back !!! ...you never know what they want you to do on any given day so its easier to reel in and pretend to be having a sandwhich etc whilst they are doing there checks ..you dont want to actually catch a carp whilst they are checking you as it will end in tears 9/10
also we have lots of little carp to wade through ....its just easier and more enjoyable to catch what is in front of you on tackle that is designed for the size of the carp
we are not known as a monster carp destination ....but i'm told we have some superb golf courses
as for the drone i am always very concious of people around me and do not fly untill they have left ...we all want to sit in the countryside in piece n quiet and only hear the wildlife or at least i do ..so i treat people as i would like to be treated
as the drone is noisy and does sound like a demented wasp !!!
its not easy being an angler here ....but the scenery makes up for it
